Eligibility | Restrictions | Fees| Limitations| ILL Lending
At the Woodburn Public Library, we strive to provide the information resources to meet the diverse needs of the community. When we do not have the requested material in our collection, we attempt to borrow from other libraries within the CCRLS consortium.
As part of its mission to promote literacy, lifelong learning, and the enjoyment of reading, the Woodburn Public Library offers interlibrary loan service (ILL) for materials not available at the CCRLS member libraries. The ILL system allows the Woodburn Public Library to borrow material from other libraries in the state and from around the country, from public, academic, and specialized libraries.
To be eligible for ILL service, a patron must have an adult card valid for checkout with current contact information. A patron with a basic card may have one title on request in the CCRLS catalog or one title requested from a library outside CCRLS. Full-service patrons may have a maximum of three outstanding ILL requests in addition to their requests on the CCRLS catalog. The Woodburn Public Library may revoke ILL privileges for patrons who do not return ILL material on time or otherwise misuse the service.
Materials that cannot be borrowed include:
The Woodburn Public Library does not charge a fee for placing ILL requests. We attempt to borrow material from libraries that do not charge a borrowing fee. The patron must pay any borrowing fees charged by the lending library. The patron must also pay any return postage costs for the ILL item. Items borrowed from libraries served by the Oregon library courier service are returned free of charge.
The owning library decides whether to loan its materials and the borrowing conditions. Reference, rare, or archival materials are generally not available for loan. The lending library determines any lending fee, type of use permitted, length of loan, and availability of renewals. Photocopies of articles, books, and other materials obtained through interlibrary loan are supplied in accordance with copyright law.
The Woodburn Public Library will loan material to other libraries free
of charge. Because of our shared catalog, ILL requests must be sent directly
to the Woodburn Public Library by fax (503-982-2808), mail, or
email.
For more information, please contact a reference librarian during library hours at 503-982-5252 or at other times by email.
