The quietest study spaces (and the best views) are at the south end of the library, near the circulating books.
Group study rooms for students working in teams are arranged around the south end of the library. There are ten group study rooms, each with room for six students. Study rooms may be reserved in advance.
Use your I.D. to check out books and magazines. Although you can use a public library card, using your student I.D. helps the library staff know which kinds of books are being checked out by our students, so we can buy more. Books that don't show use are not replaced.
You can obtain a student I.D. from the Bookstore in Building 1. The card is free.
Between terms your student I.D. is invalid, unless you have pre-registered for the following term. You can also use a public library card to check out materials.
If Chemeketa doesn't have the book you want, you can obtain it from another CCRLS library by clicking the "Request" button. In the space marked, "Barcode," type the number under the large barcode on your card. You need only type the last eight digits. Select your pickup location. If you have not yet chosen a PIN, click on "Submit." You will be asked to enter a PIN of your choice twice. If you already have a PIN, enter your PIN and click on "Submit." The computer will give you a "Successful" message when you have finished.
If no CCRLS library has the book you want, you can obtain the book by filling out an interlibrary loan form. Forms are available at the circulation desk, reference desk, and online at About Interlibrary Loan. You may also be able to request the item through the Summit catalog.
