CCRLS Library Catalog Basics
- Select Search Type
From the basic search screen, select the type of search you would like to do. The basic search types are Keyword, Title, Author, Subject, or Call Number. If you do not select a search type, the system defaults to Keyword.

-
Enter your search terms
Enter the terms appropriate for the type of search you have selected. If you are searching by Title, you do not have to enter the entire title, just the first few words. For author searches, type the author's last name first.
- Execute your search
Click the "Submit" button.
- Choose your item
If more than one item fits your keyword search, you will see a list of items with the best match listed first. The first three copies in the system are shown in the list. The library, call number, and status are listed. "Available" means that the copy is checked in at that library. You can find more information on a particular item by clicking on the title.

-
Check the detailed record
When you have clicked on the title of an item, "Copy status" will list all the libraries that have copies of the item, with the item's location, call numbers, and availability. You can click on the "More Details" tab for more information on the item, such as page numbers or contents. Clicking on the "Find similar items" tab will give you a clickable list of subjects and/or authors.

-
Requesting a book
You can use the catalog request a book from another library in the system. See Requesting materials from another CCRLS Library for instructions.
The catalog has online help. For further tips on how to use the catalog, click on the Help link in the catalog.
