The reference librarians are happy to assist you with these databases. These computers print to a print station in the Copy Room. Printing costs 10 cents per page.
There are 30 multi-purpose computers; they can be checked out for two hours' use at the Circulation Desk with a valid Chemeketa ID card. Six computers are available to library users with CCRLS public library cards. The three computers nearest to the Circulation Desk are "express" stations for 15-minute use and require no signup. All of these computers print to a print station in the Copy Room for 10 cents per page. If you encounter a problem with the multi-purpose computers, please ask the Instructional Assistant on duty, or report the problem to the Circulation Desk.
The following software is available on the multipurpose computers: Microsoft Word 2003, Access 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, Publisher 2003, and Internet Explorer 6.0. If you need to learn how to use these programs, the Instructional Assistant on duty near the multi-pupose computers can help you. If no assistant is on duty, the staff in the Chemeketa computer labs (Building 6, Room 218) are qualified to assist you.
It is advisable to have a floppy diskette available. Some programs will not print or will lock up without a diskette. Diskettes are available at the Bookstore, or for 75 cents each at the Circulation Desk. Please label your diskette for easy identification.
Additional Internet stations are available to Chemeketa students on a first-come, first served basis to in the Library Instruction Room (Room 240), when that room is not being used for library instruction. Chemeketa ID cards must be displayed. A schedule is posted outside the door. There is no printer in this room.
